I've heard this for years. How come a vote for a third party candidate or abstaining isn't considered a vote for Harris?

It's because in purple states not voting could result in the person you hate more, winning.  That's also how down ballot crazies of the MAGA cult, win.  If this were the traditional Republican party as we know it, then not voting wouldn't be as meaningful.

You know I live in Idaho right ? 

Im still voting , just not for either main party idiots. 
 

Also Rs always win the down ballot in my state so……

I uinderstand.  Idaho is the reddest state west of the Mississippi.
