OrediggerPoke Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 I have traditionally got HuluLive for the last 5 years for college football season. The price has just kept going up. $80 a month just seems crazy now. I just purchased the SlingTv season pass football package this year. It includes Blue and Orange with the Sports Extra for $200 for 4 months. Will be new for me. But it comes with ESPNs, FS1, FS2, NFL Network, RedZone, Big10 Network, SEC Network, ACC network, MLB network, MLB strike zone,NBA TV, NHL network, etc. So it seems to be the best for football now.
OrediggerPoke Posted August 23, 2024 Author Posted August 23, 2024 I should add that Sling doesn’t have CBS sports network. I am going to all of the Wyoming games on CBSSN this year in person so didn’t need that channel.

No CBSSports.net is the entire reason I have never used SlingTV I’ve used FuboTV & YouTubeTV for football season. ------------------------------ How much is the base before the $200 Sports add-on?

All the games on CBS, FS1, Tru, CW and other networks. Not sure if you’ve been following but there will be quite a few more games on Tru and CW this year. Over the past few years, rarely has there been games I really wanted to watch on CBSSN not involving Wyoming. It seems those matchups just rarely were very intriguing.

The $200 deal is everything. It includes orange, blue, DVR and the additional sports package for 4 months. 1

I don’t believe Fubo has Tru. YouTube requires NFL Sunday Ticket for Redzone I believe. Those went into my thinking.
OrediggerPoke Posted August 23, 2024 Author Posted August 23, 2024 I guess someone else came to the same conclusion I had. Sling has the best price for college football. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/sling-tv-your-cheapest-ticket-to-college-football/ar-AA1oNHAs

Meh, I guess teams that used to be in the west division tend to have more CBSSN games. What about basketball season? I feel like I would've missed a lot of games last year without CBSSN. 1

Most on cbs sports network.

Hashbrowns Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 Who was the cable guy? @zagfan1995 or something? After subscribing to Hulu Live, Amazon Prime, Netflix, HBO Max, Peacock, Disney+, ESPN, I want to go back to cable. 1

You want Fox Sports AND ESPN AND Peacock AND Big Ten Network AND 4k, no problem, you just need to buy the blue, orange and green plans and then $20 a month for the add-ons. "They" know that live sports drives all of their revenue and intentionally split the content forcing people to spend even more than they did with cable.

I usually have to get the sports pack to get cbssn on DirecTV which is a must have but I seem to be getting that channel already this year . Hopefully not just a freeview promo.

You can switch back and forth.

I would agree if cable was as simple as the streaming services in terms of starting and stopping. My wife and I don't watch much live non-OTA TV outside of football season and March madness. She keeps busy year round with her Netflix account, our roof antenna provides us a great non-compressed signal for CBS/FOX/ABC/NBC/etc (better than Cable and streaming services) and I spend about $300 total for the 5-6 months a year that I want to watch college football, NFL redzone and college basketball.
Bison Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 Picked up the orange package for $20…I love the flexibility of Sling since I can add blue if the Buffs play on FS1/FS2. ESPN+ has been great for me since I watched three CU WSOC games so far and VB is starting this weekend as well.

Sling does not currently charge for 4K for the limited availability they have of 4k programming (they advertise that they will offer much more 4K for college football but that remains to be seen).
