I didn't see any, and a quick scroll through relevant threads did not reveal any ripping of Vance last night. It's possible you are a fibber. A bullshitter. So, show yer work. And, even if you do have one example, it hardly balances the multiple ranting posts on Trump's opponents. Hell, you even started an anti-Harris thread last night. I don't see you starting a "JD is a phony" threads. Show yer work. It was a response to Go State green infection. And LOL that you actually spent time checking. And then you still couldn’t find it. What policies of hers do you find so objectionable or what has she said or done to draw your ire? Is it just because she has a D next to her name? 1 Quote

We disagree. I think they knew there was a problem for quite some time. Old men have good days and tough days. Even younger folks do. Biden in '20 was observably physically diminished from his early/mid-VP years. But, like I said, his SOTU '24 speech, the fall '23 G7 summit, and 90 mt. bike rides where he banters w/reporters as he spins past are all signs Biden wasn't a mashed potatoe brain for years before. I mean, Mike Johnson couldn't even continue his introduction when the teleprompter went out in Milwaukee and I haven't heard calls that he needs gravy poured over his head. 3 Quote

There's not a poster here who could have given his SOTU speech just four+ months back even with two teleprompters and stacks of notes. Well, maybe @East Village Poltergeist or Joe if he went into training. There's no conspiracy. Fuck, just think of 1944 if you want a health coverup. Every poster here could talk extemporaneously without a teleprompter given any amount of time to prepare. Don’t be ridiculous. Millions of Americans do it every single day. It’s not finding the Northwest passage in a leaky death trap. It’s saying what you want to say in a prepared speech to a captive audience. 1 Quote

masterfrog Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 I don’t know what the Trump team will roll with, but my hunch is that it will be effective enough to win and you won’t have Biden/Harris to kick around anymore, to paraphrase another California politician. Quote

I think they were just trying to get him through the election with one final ride. To your point. I think this is a huge disservice to Dems and the country. You can’t exactly push an incumbent out the door until disaster happens. It would have been nice if Team Biden put a stop to this much sooner and get some new life in the election seat to prepare instead of putting a back up in the game with 3 minutes left in the 4th qtr. 2 Quote

Accountants should be better at math. The SOTU was 4.5 months ago. 4.5 < 6. No, what I have repeatedly said is that there is a likelihood both Biden and Trump are in Stage 2 AD based on ages, normal life progression, and the observable pauses/incompletion of thoughts and sentences. I've also said Biden's decline is more physical and it's apparent that it came somewhat swiftly. We know that (probably) most objectively from foreign leader observations. We don't know the exact time frame, and may never even w/the hindsight of history. That's true for Reagan even now. If you have never watched Reagan's Spring 1988 Moscow addresses when he was most certainly farther down the AD path, they are pretty remarkable. Old men can rise to the occasion until they can't. Trump never could. That's the difference. 1 Quote

A diminished ability to accomplish what we once could isn't merely a result of an aging metabolism, it's also a function of scares left from emotional turmoil and I can say from first-hand experience that the trials and tribulations of loved ones are always the worst. Joe Biden has suffered through more of those than any politician who comes to mind. Oh and Mike Johnson's threat to sue the Dems over this Harris thing is as laughingly weak as his leadership skills. 1 Quote
