Kids in Hot Cars

Recommended Posts

It amazes me how often this happens with kids (and with dogs). Playing video games....a grown ass man playing video games while his kid is dying. I'd imagine that their marriage is over too, though that's the least of his problems.

His wife has defended him, strangely enough.

We had a call a few weeks ago where a guy left his 1 year old daughter in his car while he shopped at Costco. Just as we pulled up, he ran out, pulled his daughter out, put her on his lap and drove off...with her on his lap. He was more concerned about being in trouble than his daughter. He did get arrested though, so I suspect that's the last time he'll do that.

Saw police video of a nurse that left her kid in the car for 3 hours while she hit the casino. She put on quite the show when caught.

Reminds me of when I was working at Victorias Secret back in the day and some lady let her kid run wild to the point he was pulling and slamming drawers and ended up with a huge gash on his head. The EMTs showed up and said he needed to go to the hospital for stitches and she denied treatment so she could finish her shopping trip in the store.

I need a short story on the whole hiring process of you working at Victoria’s Secret.

In short I was broke and applied as a joke and they were having interviews right then. So I went and quoted biggie smalls in that “mo money means mo problems” and I got hired on the spot. Eventually got as high as hiring manager before I quit and became a functioning member of society.

Were there any other guys on the staff, were your duties limited?

My wife worked at VS in high school, she talked about doing bra fittings.

@East Village Poltergeist worked there too

I just worked the counter and followed shoplifters around. Wasn't allowed to help with bra fittings though that would have been cool I guess.

One time the head of the local Hells Angels chapter came in and saw me working there and laughed and said "I wish I had your job". And I told him "to be honest, sometimes it's amazing, most other times I feel like Al Bundy at the shoe store." he hella laughed. Then I said, "Honestly man I wish I had your job." He kept laughing and shook his head and said, "nah, trust me, you don't. you really don't".

saw some really wild times in there during those couple years working there though. One time had some super hot girl try to return panties she'd clearly shit in at some point. Will never forget that.

I hope that’s still included on your resume.

oh absolutely. it even helped get my current job now. first thing anyone wants to talk about in an interview is that job. It's a great icebreaker and people always laugh (male or female) when I tell them about it. I always tell them I'm probably the only candidate they'll find that sold women's underwear, ran a cattle ranch, and speaks near-fluent Arabic.

Always good you could fall back on a retirement career running a VS in Saudi Arabia….

Dude deserves to be sentenced to his own death in a hot car. WTF is wrong with people….seriously is one of the most awful stories I’ve ever read.

I’m terrified of this. But as father of three I can totally understand it happening. Lack of sleep, getting thrown off routine (like if he doesn’t normally pick up the baby).
