ph90702
What is the infatuation with them? I’m 34, don’t have any, and have no intention of ever getting one. It seems like it’s the thing nowadays.

True story I have a patient with that on his arm (ex wife). He said he kept her name there to remind him to never do that again.
Cowboy Up
My oldest son had a math teacher and coach who he thought the world of. He passed away from cancer at about age 64. He got a tat on his chest in remembrance of said coach. Youngest son got one over his heart that says family over everything. They both have some significant meaning so I was ok with it(not that I had any choice). I don’t have any tats however.
Jack
In my time...tats were for sailors and highway patrol ( my dad was WW2 Navy) for some reason. I never thought of getting one. much to their moms relief..both sons got thru college athletics without any. We always told them that they are a very personal thing and tats were forever...their decision. Let's see your tats...they interest me, just not for me.

happycamper
They're kinda like fashion, in that they're an avenue for self-expression, but unlike fashion you can opt out. So... you're going to have amazing self expression, terrible self expression, expression that isn't for you but you can certainly appreciate, and then most of it is going to be mid. Slapdad
I have one...a large Spanish cross on my upper back. My youngest son was in the NICU for two months when he was born and it didn't look like we'd ever take him home. Sitting there with him, I got the idea of a cross with angel wings should he not make it. He did a 180 and we took him home...and he's starting college in a few weeks. A few years later in Barcelona, I found myself eating at a café in Barcelona with a tattoo parlor above it and I could see a drawing of a Spanish cross through the window and walked through the door. Getting another would lessen the meaning for me. Full sleeves are commonplace in the fire service and some of them look cool, but it's not for me. The San Diegan
Back when I reveled against anything, my grandma told me, "Freedom of expression is a poor substitute for freedom of thought." I still chew on that from time to time.

The San Diegan
Given my Spanish Colonial heritage, I've often thought about getting, "No me saques sin razón, no me envaines sin honor" inked on my right forearm. Or my dick. 🤔
