oregon sweeps st. john's to improve the ol' w/l record to 13-2. as i mentioned last week, here's hoping this becomes a top 50 series win by season's end if st. john's does what they're expected to do in the big east.

two at home against san francisco tuesday/wednesday, then the pac-12 opener @ cal.

Cal's Brian Celsi wins the NCAA player of the week award for going 8/11 with 3 home runs and 9 RBI's.

Cal improved to 11-3 and has won 6 games in a row.  This baseball season looks like it's going to be an all out war.  6 teams in the top 25 and 3 teams just outside of it receiving votes.

You ain't kidding.

Beavs have won 10 in a row, sit at 14-3. Albeit not the toughest schedule in the world.  Now headed to Tempe for perhaps the biggest test of the season thus far.

should be an interesting series. san francisco came to eugene for a midweek series and totally shut us down, and the dons suck. oregon has a lot of hitters putting up decent numbers but no one is stringing hits together. pitching good, hitting lackluster.

Cal beat the Dons 11-0 the one time we faced them and Cal's pitching has been very good so far this year so perhaps we match up well.  I'm going to try and catch the Saturday contest.

Joe Pistorese struck out eight Trojans on his way to a complete game victory over #12 USC in Los Angeles. The Cougs came back to win 4-2. It was the Trojans first home loss since May of last year.

WSU took 2 of 3 from the Trojans in Pullman last year. I would feel a lot better about tomorrow's game if it was on Bailey-Brayton field.

oregon baseball is wrong. got blasted in four consecutive games (all losses) against san francisco and cal, before managing to salvage the final game down in berkeley. have a week off to try to mend themselves before asu comes to town.

I went to the Sunday game and Cal really blew a great opportunity to sweep.  Cal scored 0 runs on back-to-back bases loaded situations with 1 out and then committed an error in the Ducks big 7th inning that led to 3 unearned runs.  Cal nearly tied the game in the bottom of the 9th but Chris Paul's towering drive went just foul.  Cal played the series without ace Daulton Jefferies who has shoulder soreness (ut oh.)  Speaking of aces and shoulder issues, Stanford announced their ace needs TJ surgery -- sucks.

Cal faces San Francisco again before traveling to Washington.
