oregon wins 3 of 4 in hawaii, needing twice to rally in the late innings. didn't really see that much-improved offense the coaches were talking about, but it's early.

four game series starts tomorrow at home (baseball in oregon -- in February?) against new mexico state.

We're not playing any west coast teams this year.  We usually do at least something.  bummer.  We'll see one or several of you in the post season...I don't think we're up for an eventual collapse after cranking up 6-1 hosting Minnesota, a small local, and ranked Alabama.  Stanford does both Rice and Texas this year.  Tall, good order for them.

Rice has both Arizona - already won 2-1, and Stanford this weekend here.  We need a stout Rice to beef our cred when we play our annual series.  And win it again.

Looks like Arizona State is wearing the Champ of Oklahoma crown...2-1 over Stillwater; 1-0 over Norman.  Despite the ensuing series loss to TCU.  Speaking of whom, TCU is in your Dodgertown Classic this year; we did it last year.  Hope to do it again...

Good series win for Bruins @ North Carolina just concluded.

I guess I should chime in because apparently Cal is off to a good start.  8-3 and 7-1 since the opening series loss to Duke, whose only loss of the season came to Cal.

Cal took 3 of 4 from UC Irvine, beat Stanford 11-1 and swept Kansas State, who had beaten Utah and WSU while losing one-run contests to Oregon State and Washington.

Cal's arms look quite good this year and the lineup isn't bad either.  Time will tell if the good times can continue or if the team will regress to their preseason expectations but for now the team is receiving votes for the top 25 and it looks as if the conference has yet another solid team in a league that is full of them.

oregon beat #22 ucsb 2 of 3 in their park, notching a quality series win that should pay dividens comes ncaa tournament time. up next is three in eugene with big east favorite st. john's, another team that could provide an rpi boost should we take care of business.
