I can't do keto again due to my liver damage from my autoimmune condition. I've put a bunch of stress weight on in the last 6-7 months, so I'm just having to watch my macros and eat healthier now. I don't know if this would help you but the for most of my adult life I've had elevated alk phos levels (liver). I read where Milk Thistle can detox the liver and I'm giving it a go. My Dr set up some blood tests to check if it made a difference and the first test showed a drop halfway to normal. I'm checking it again in a month. If I wasn't already taking it daily, I would have done some research and probably tried it out. It seems to have done a pretty decent job for me. I need to get my levels checked again soon, but it seemed to do a good job for me. I hope it continues to make a difference for you. 🙂
Cowboy Up
Some baby back ribs on the smoker today… fricken good. Went with a bottled bbq sauce because I don’t want to clutter up the kitchen. Some potato salad and baked beans and a couple deviled eggs. My ass will smell tomorrow!🤣 4

Time seems to hold me back on making a lot of homemade sauces.

They little guy puts out the best meat because you don’t lose moisture and can build a lot of flavor with liquid. The art of keeping the right temp and not blowing your meat over the top with too much smoke is a fun game, when you tell the ole’ lady you have to cook all day so you can get smashed in your back yard. 1
Cowboy Up
I have a little water smoker too. Probably my favorite but the Traeger makes it so easy. These ribs had good moisture in them. ive done some cherry and some raspberry sauces that were vinegar and tomato based with some heat in them that are awesome with pork and chicken. Need to find those old recipes. My favorite is a fresh peach bbq sauce I came up with years ago but I can’t find the recipe. Probably lots of them online. I may find one that is close and add and subtract until I like it one of these days.
Joe from Wyo
NY strip and rice with finadeni sauce. Seared the steak with butter on a stove. Seasoned it overnight with ground pepper, salt and low sodium soy sauce. Finadeni is a traditional Chamorro sauce/recipe from Guam. Basically equal parts soy sauce and lemon juice (1/2 cup each)…3 green onions and 5 Thai chili peppers. Spicy as all fuck but amazing. hit the spot this evening.
Jack
Been perfecting my smoked pulled pork. Been using pretty basic SPG seasonings. Once i started to add the drippings to the pulled pork...met my goal of not needing BBQ sauce.

retrofade
I forgot to take pictures, but I made homemade mushroom ravioli, marinara sauce, alfredo sauce, mushroom-infused fettuccini, zucchini, and garlic bread for everyone today.

Asking for a friend Yeah, I started out my bread baking career with the popular no-knead bread that was published in the Times a couple years ago. I works well, both in the oven and on a covered grill. Not really doing it anymore because I'm not a fan of the ultra-crunchy crust and, honestly, the dutch oven is just an unnecessary complication. Just throw the bread on a sheet (bonus if you have a pizza stone), and the result will be just as good or better. Now obviously, if you're sitting in the wilderness with only a campfire and you want bread, the dutch oven is the way to go, the way it was intended.

Hmm I wonder if coconut oil would work in place of lard.

Cowboy Up
Going to cook a couple of thick pork chops on the Traeger for lunch. Sides will be some macaroni salad and some veggies from the garden cooked in the air fryer.
