Got the itch, going back and replaying Resident Evil 4 Remake. Damn this game is so good!

Nothing funnier than taking Spanish villagers to suplex city.

I'm late to the party, but have been playing through Ghost of Tsushima on PS5. Incredible game. Ghost of Yotei is going to be a day 1 purchase for me.

Playing Horizon Forbidden West now. Love it's amazing setting and world building, but it's got a little too much to do for me. Played Alan Wake 2 last month and that game blew my mind. Loved the narrative and the expansion of that universe (Control was one of my favs). Pacing and length were perfect.

Still patiently waiting for Monster Hunter Wilds, prepurchased it a month ago and just slogging through the Horizon side quests and achievements until it comes out.

The Horizon games are damn good. I agree that they can get a little busy, but the gameplay and story in them is top notch.

They are a lot of fun. I liked the mystery of the first game better and Lance Reddicks character had more to do with the mystery too, but the second game is still fun and interesting. The gameplay is fun, just not as smooth when I play bow in MH, but I do like how you target parts and stuff.

Just way too many side quests, errands, rebel camps, collectibles, etc. I get overwhelmed sometimes and have to put the game down lol

One of the reasons I'm still holding onto my PS2 is because I still get the urge to play through RE4 every other year. I love how the guns feel and the dialogue is peak cheesecake.

I needed some escapism so I'm back into Baldur's Gate 3. Currently polishing off Act 1 on tactician as the Dark Urge and after two runs as a relatively good person its been fun coming up with reasons to kill everyone we meet.

I still have my Game Cube and original copy of RE4. The Regenerators scared the shit out of me when I was a kid.

I just purchased Onimusha for Steam and that is a game that I had strong interest in for a long time.  Onimusha 2 was just announced for Steam, Xbox 1, PS4, and Switch...they should be playable on the newer consoles as well.  Dino Crisis just came out on GOG and RE 1-3 is also on GOG (not the remake versions).

Doom 64 was my first N64 game and I can't stop playing it.  I lost track how many times I have beaten the game in the last month or so.

Just finished the Burning Shores yesterday. I really enjoyed the DLC. It was a lot more streamlined than the main game and the fight against the Horus was one of the most stunning, cinematic, and epic boss fights I've ever experienced in a game. That sequence alone was worth playing the game.

I've been playing Final Fantasy XV. I like the story, but it feels off to me, more like a Kingdom Hearts game than a Final Fantasy game. Still enjoyable, probably 75% of the way through right now if I had to guess. Problem is that I have almost no time for gaming at the moment, I even let my FFXIV subscription lapse because I wasn't playing it.

Been playing the Monster Hunter Wilds Beta this weekend and it's been a blast! So excited for this next iteration. If anyone has ever been interested in trying out this series, the beta is free this weekend and next weekend and I highly recommend checking it out.

Got the latest Dynasty Warriors game. Rather than playing as Guan Yu for the 100th time, you play as an original character. And the playstyle is back in a good way. There is "open world", but that's aesthetic, and not a chore to go through. Only just finished Hulao Gate. Man, I haven't enjoyed a video game like this in some time.

That figure even shocked me...just 2M Xbox Series console sold in all of 2024?  Nintendo sold like 4M Switch consoles in the last quarter and the Switch is in freefall as we wait for the Switch 2 to go on sale.  No wonder Xbox is going third party even if they have not announced it themselves.

Now how much will that Playstation 6 cost?

Sony has the data that shows how much people will spend. They shot themselves in the foot when the PS3 launched at $600 when $300 was the going rate for consoles. They're screwing the pooch on pricing again with the PS5 Pro (which is not much of an upgrade over the standard PS5). If I were to guess I'd say they'll do a digital PS6 at $500 and a disc version at $550.

Game Pass was a double edged sword, great for the consumer but terrible for company. My Xbox Series X is collecting dust in my bedroom and only used every other month to watch YouTube TV, hardly ever for games anymore. My PS5 gets a lot of use because the 4k player is better than Xbox and they have more games that my wife likes to play than what my Xbox provides. I'll always love Xbox, but they made way too many mistakes with the Xbox One and Series generations. Phil Spencer looked to be the guy, but he spent billions acquiring as many publishers as possible, but many didn't pan out. I really hope that we have a video game crash at some point because we need to get back to what gaming was 20 years ago. All sitting around the couch having a good time with friends and not being forced to all buy consoles, all buy the same game, and all needing internet connection to play a damn slot machine simulator.

I'm thinking more like $600 for the base digital PS6 and $650 for the disc based version.

If you have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, the Switch itself has to connect to the internet once a week or you can't play their classic Nintendo games.

This need to have those consoles has pushed me towards PC gaming and when I shop for Xbox games, I check to see if it also is a Xbox Play Anywhere game since it would include the Windows version as well.  I just purchased Dirt 5 (and Year One version) on the Xbox since it is Play Anywhere.  Ditto for Doom Dark Ages and I also opted not to buy a PS5 this generation.  I'm trying to opt out of the Switch 2 in addition to the PS6.

I've become a dedicated PC gamer since Covid. I still have the consoles because I wanted to play God of War and Final Fantasy, but since most of the Playstation library is going to PC I don't really see a need for the console anymore. Maybe to play the classic collections, but that's about it.

I keep my Ps5 because I need it to play College football, and the GTA 6 launch will be console only.

Most of my gaming is done on the PC now though.  I have been on an age of empires kick.

College football is currently the only reason I have a console.  Hopefully it will be on Steam this year.
