Bison Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 What an awesome week this has been since we have a brand new CFB game for the first time in 11 years! Won the CFP with CU on my first run and got knocked out of the CFP the following season. After that, I decided to start a new dynasty with Sam Houston State. It’s so much fun to start with a lowly program and work it up the rankings. Just a thought: why not schedule games at Boise State, EMU, and Coastal Carolina so you can deal with the different field colors?

ZonaPoke Posted July 20, 2024 Posted July 20, 2024 Pretty cool to see @ph90702 in the new college football game as a recruit in Dynasty mode! 5 1

Godrick fight is epic though when he goes into the second phase. The world is definitely the highlight of the game. So much fun exploring. @StealthLoboOkay, how the fuck do you beat the two Valiant Gargoyles in Nokron? I have Bloodhound Fang at +9 and I have Banished Knight Oleg at +6, but I can barely get the first Gargoyle down before the second one shows up and I get my shit pushed in.

Run away and only attack when you are in a 1 on 1 situation. If they are able to hang up on you, you're dead (as you've experienced). The fight can go on for awhile as you wait for rare attacking opportunities. From soft doesn't play fair when they through 2 bosses at you at the same time. Wait till you get to God skin duo...
bornontheblue Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 Anybody played Star Wars Outlaws ? Thoughts?
B_Lootz Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 Out of curiosity, has the Hawaii stadium been updated on CFB 25 from the generic one to T.C. Ching?

Sell the rights to a quality developer like Rockstar.

Maybe the rights cost too much, and Rockstar knows they'll make more money with gtaXX without the risk.

It's still the generic one as of a couple of months ago. It's supposedly going to be added in the next major patch.
Bison Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 PS5 Pro for $700.00: Yay or nay? I believe that console revision is being released for the purpose of playing Grand Theft Auto 6. I had a PS4 Pro and enjoyed that thing but a $700 console? When not playing NCAA FB 25, I’m playing indie games so I don’t need a powerful console like in the past.

I don't think that's worth it in my opinion. Remember, when the PS4 Pro came out it was $400, the PS5 Pro is $700 and $780 for the disk drive version and you also need to pay extra for the freaking stand. That's double the price compared to the PS4 Pro and Sony is now nickle and diming people on features. It has no new games attached to it except GTA6 and that's not even coming out until fall 2025 or spring 2026. Nah, I'm good with my base PS5. Sony can go pound sand.

Yeah I think the price is insane and I think it is somewhat related to the weaker yen. The PS4 Pro was just $100 more than the base PS4 while the PS5 Pro is $200-almost 300 more than the base PS5. That is on the heels of a disappointing console generation. It's a no go for me at this point and I'd opt for the base PS5 if I'm interested. I still have an Vita and had a PSP in addition to PS1-PS4 so there's an outside chance that I buy a PS5. What's nice about the XSX that I have is that I can play four console generations on that thing (XB, 360, XB1, and XSS/X) plus there are some XB1 owners who are playing the latest Xbox games through Xbox Cloud Gaming by not getting a XSS or XSX. That means for the next generation Xbox, I can just keep my XSX in that case. What about the Playstation? You can do PS Now through the PS console or a Windows computer but not via mobile which is just ridiculous. I'm just waiting on the inevitable PC version of Spider-Man 2 to be on Steam and to see if my gaming laptop with a RTX 3060 can handle that game. That thing can play Spider-Man and Miles Morales at 60+ fps so we'll see about Spider-Man 2. Getting a base PS5 would be a last resort in that case for me but Spider-Man 2 probably will be on PC next year.
Bison Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 And regarding the PS5 Pro, I have drifted far away from AAA games and I am heavily into 2D indie games and older games so I might not need a next generation console except for the Switch 2. You can still get a lot of indie games for free via Amazon Prime Gaming or the Epic Game Store on PC. The iPad does have a decent library of indie games on that platform even without Apple Arcade and I like it better than playing with the Switch due to the 6.2" screen (Switch 2 is said to have an 8 inch screen so that would be an improvement). I have ETA Prime subscribed on my YouTube feed and he's a good source for those apu devices.
retrofade Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 The PS5 Pro is effectively being treated as a $350 upgrade. Places like GameStop are buying them back for $350 if you buy a PS5 Pro.
retrofade Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 I finally got around to playing Final Fantasy 15. It's a lot of fun. I finished the FFXIV Dawntrail expansion main story. The MSQ wasn't as good as Endwalker's was, but that was a high bar to clear. It felt like two separate stories mashed together violently in the middle. It was definitely a reset for the game after the conflict that was being built to for the main campaign and four expansions finally came to a head. I'm interested in seeing what they do with the story when they start on the post-retail patches and storyline. 1
