I’m gonna be starting the new Final Fantasy XIV expansion tonight. Super excited even though I’ve heard the MSQ isn’t as good as Endwalker’s was.

Just got a message on my Xbox that my pre-order was going to be automatically processed (it's already fully paid for) but for anyone who has pre-ordered the game on the Xbox (and PS5 I assume), the pre-order might soon charge on your credit cards.

Already downloaded the game to my XSX…have you done that for your PS5 or Xbox Series console?

PS5 automatically downloads preorders if you bought the digital version

Checked EA Play and the 10 hour trail isn't there on the XSX just yet (have active Game Pass Ultimate subscription).

I'm hating that I don't have a console to play the game with.

I guess I'll just play some Revamped instead.

A friend of mine bought me Elden Ring several years ago and I barely touched it. I felt so overwhelmed that I lost interest quickly after dying so many times. About a week ago I started watching more videos of the DLC that came out so I decided to give it another go. I watched a few beginner videos and I managed to level up the Bloodhound fang to +5 and beat Godrick the Grafted after two tries. My confidence is growing and I've been having a lot more fun now, but holy shit is the world massive.

Very nice! Margot is the first major hurdle. Dude is hard. Godrick fight is epic though when he goes into the second phase. The world is definitely the highlight of the game. So much fun exploring.

I'm playing CFB 25 this evening with the EA Play 10 hour trail and basically I am just playing CU in a dynasty, playing offense only on Super Sim, and nothing else (letting the CPU take care of recruiting and stuff like that).  The only difference I'm noticing is how you keep the ball during read options and the Frostbite engine (not a fan of that in the Madden games either).  It's just not as arcade like as NFB 14 but more enjoyable than Madden this gen.

It's nice to have the updated stadiums and the ability to customize your playbooks.  They really nailed the stadium atmospheres as well.

I already pre-ordered the standard version and it will unlock this Thursday night at 10 pm MT.  I will try the other modes in that case but it'll be awhile before I do that because I will be focused on building up programs & customizing my playbook.

I'm liking CFB 25 so far, only big gripe I have is that the Fresno State fight song sounds different and it's not the traditional version.

Finally ran out of my EA Play 10 hour trail for this game.  Here's some of my takes:

1. I feel like they really improved on the flow of the game and atmosphere of the game...even nailed that part down for the most part.  That will make it feel much different from playing Madden for sure and I won't play another Madden game again unless CFB has to go on ice due to legal issues which kept us from getting a new CFB game for 11 years.  I feel like I just retired from following pro sports in real life too.

2. I'm going to have to throw out the control scheme for what has been there since Madden/NCAA FB 13 when they decided to have the same controls for both games.  In the older games, you had to hold down the A or X button for zone read plays if you wanted to hand the ball off to the running back.  In CFB 25, you have to hold that button down if you want to keep the ball...talk about messing with how I played videogame football for years!

3. You can create your own playbook but it appears to me that you can't take that into Dynasty mode and that does sour me on the game a bit.  Maybe a patch will fix that issue.

4. The game has its flaws especially in the running game along the OL and I'm not a fan of the new kicking meter.  I used the classic way of passing the football but I'm going to try the new passing meter at some point.

5. The game does feel more challenging to play especially the running game and passing game.  You can't get the zone read off like you used to in NCAA FB 14 and I have mixed feelings about that especially since it was too easy in NCAA FB 14 but almost too difficult to pull off in CFB 25.  You got to be more careful throwing the ball because it seems like there are more pick sixes scored against you in the game so I'm okay with that.

6. I did not do any recruiting during the trail because I just wanted to play and go through the playbooks.  After the game unlocks for me tomorrow night (10 pm MT), I'm going to really sink my teeth into this game.

I would recommend anyone on the fence when it comes to buying this game to try the 10 hour EA Play trail which is just $6 per month.  You like the game enough, you can get 10% off the digital game and and recoup the $6 you just spent on EA Play.  Now NCAA FB 14 vs CFB 25, is CFB 25 a must buy?  I'd say it depends in this case mainly due to the zone read controls and custom playbooks not being able to be used in Dynasty mode but the flow of the game and atmosphere of CFB 25 really beats NCAA FB 14 in that case.

THis has been driving me crazy. I really hope they patch in a way to choose which way to do it. NOw I am reading the defender AND having to think about if I push the button or not and most of the time end up makeing the wrong choice.

But overall I love the game. I started on a dynasty but am not very far.

Yes that is making me nuts too and thinking too much too.  It would make it hard to run the traditional option offenses too.
