This has been making the rounds on alternative radio. I gotta admit, pretty damn groovy

Fontains D.C. have some great songs and that one, in particular, is good...it's a bop. They're touring the states in Sept/Oct, but they won't be anywhere near me...I was hoping to go see them. Starburster reminds me of "Atom Bomb" by Fluke and has a Moby/Massive Attack vibe to it. Good stuff.

After all the shit this day brought, I had thought to put on some old Todd Snider stuff while going from a local golden ale to  that one classic pale ale to a splash of brandy.  Need for some contemplative, smile bringing tunes. Todd's 2007 studio version of a song Jerry Jeff wrote in the '60s. Stoney outlived Jerry Jeff by a tad.

One more.  Todd sent me to JJW.  Cowjazz, chunky, rollicking' from the 1975 opening track on Ridin' High.  "Public Domain". Lyrics below dedicated to @Joe from Wyo and @East Village Poltergeist.

I've drank with the whores in Sante Fe.

Yeah, I ran with the snuff queens in Dallas

Like I ran from Snow White in L.A.

Now, I've broken all my vows to Demolay.

When John R. died I played the video to the class.  Ryan M. this Irish kid and Emma H. and her dreadlocks even got emotional.

Did the people there care they were a part of the lone star state?

Always found the demo incredible as well…though you could say the same about most of his demos for that album…the entire thing is a complete masterpiece all around, probably my favorite album of all time.

There have been several artists that recorded this tune.  Pentatonix has even tried to sell this song as a Christmas song (it is not a Christmas song).  I am listening to one of my playlists and came across this song.  By far, this is my favorite version.  Enjoy.
