Gotta ask…what are your thoughts on Suicidal Tendencies? I saw them live this summer and that crowd (and show) were wild
AlpineSummer Posted July 4 Author Posted July 4 Idaho's Birthday 134 so I thought I'd listen to some Idaho songs today. I skipped the Boise songs by Jewel, Bing Crosby, and Judy Garland. Caught a Buddy Rich drum battle from 1960. The BoDeans. A few others. After a nice time at my grandnephew's birthday on this 07.03 day, I settled on this one. Saw RK last winter at the incredible Morrison Center. Not usually on RK's concert list, but that night:

ZonaPoke Posted July 7 Posted July 7 This has been making the rounds on alternative radio. I gotta admit, pretty damn groovy 1
AlpineSummer Posted July 24 Author Posted July 24 My old colleague friend is in Galway today. Made me think of Steve Earle's Galway Girl so I put it on. Then listened to the title track of the old album that Irish song was on. Re-listening to that now on a nice down to 101°F smoky eve outside.
Phxpoke Posted July 24 Posted July 24 Just saw Drive By Truckers a couple weeks ago. Great concert. 1
NorthWestCowboy Posted July 30 Posted July 30 What are y'all listening to? I went down a rabbit hole recently as I had some nostalgia for old school Chicago songs and found this Chicago tribute band called Leonid and Friends. They play music from Chicago and their contemporaries. Apparently, they've been around for about 9 years but was the first time I've heard them. The kicker is, they're based in Moscow and are all Russkies! Pretty damn talented musicians. The bass player and founder, Leonid is a music producer and choir director and apparently has a lot of talented friends. Anyway, when I was in high school band in the late 80's-early 90's we played a lot of these songs from the late 60's thru the 70's which utilized electric guitars, keyboard/piano with brass and strings. Back when a band wasn't just a guitar, bass, drums and a keyboard. I played trumpet and French horn. This isn't necessarily my favorite music to listen to but is about my most favorite music to play. 1 1
InnZoneU Posted July 30 Posted July 30 Replayed this one the other day and can't get it out of my head. McCartney said it was the best Beatles cover he ever heard. Turned a sad dour song into a banger. 1
