They’re definitely cheat codes in a sense…but understanding how to like really apply them to a raw photo in such a way to really get everything to pop…that’s an art unto itself. 1

He considers significant editing part of the artistic process. Dont get me wrong, I brighten and crop, and adjust color. But I strongly prefer a more natural look, its why nikon jpegs are my favorite out of camera 1

Only problem is it's bulk. I don't want to look like a tourist when I visit se Asia or South America. But I want amazing pics too...

I would suggest a one inch sensor shortzoom compact for what you are looking for. Preferably with a viewfinder. Panasonic, Sony, and Canon all make good ones. They fit in your pocket and are just as discreet as a phone 1
