Like those new TCU unis...sometimes simple is better.

Not really new...all they did is eliminate some decorative horns around the collar.

Was impressed with him in their spring game.  They also have a good backup QB and that is a good thing to have.

Not much different from when CU returned to simpler uniforms.  Sometimes the old uniforms were actually better.

WVU is definitely being overlooked right now.  They were picked last in the conference in 2023. They found 9 wins.  I bet they'll be picked top 5 this season.

Just take a look at their schedule and that is why they might be better this season but might not reflect in the W-L record.

Yeah, that's not an easy schedule.  At least they have the Kansas schools at home, And they might get thumped by Penn State.

That collar was really busy. Hated it.

@BYU

Do you remember in 2021 when BYU went 5-0 against the P12, including beating AZ and Utah? Their fans rode that horse for two seasons claiming they were the P12 Champs all over here in the media. I could be wrong I but I think they had a shirt going around too.

Until reality set in for 2023 with a full schedule of P4s.  Although Cincy isn't a real P4 team, just a bad decision by the B12.

We're going to have a nice reunion with BYU and Whittingham is a grouchy old bastard when it comes to this stuff. I'm hoping AZ will also bring the pain train to the Provo Kitties. You owe them one. Btw, in 2021 you played them in Provo, now again in 2024? hmmm. Not a good schedule maker there.  They should be in Tucson this year.

Looking forward to the Wildcats visit.  Last time they were here Dennis Northcutt pretty much defeated us singlehandedly in the 2nd half.

KW as the #1 coach in the Big 12 makes sense.  KU head coach has done some good work but I think KW and Mike Gundy should be 1-2 in that case.  Dykes at 7 is too high and I think he should be around 12th.  Someone does not like Coach Prime as he is ranked below the Cincy HC who was nearly ran out of Louisville before he moved to Cincy.

Colorado Football: 2024 Buffaloes Season Preview and Prediction - Athlon Sports

I agree that anything short of a post season berth (bowl or playoff) will be a major disappointment for the Buffs and that is basically my goal.  I had those special season vibes back in 2016 and for this year, they are kind of faint but that might have more to do with not knowing what to expect from CU in Big 12 play this year in addition to who the RB will be.  If a RB emerges, CU just might make a run for the B12 CCG but I'm not as confident as I was back in 2016.  At the same time, the notable CU players such as Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter will have a year of P4 football under their belts so they should be healthier and more productive.  There are several other WRs who could be very good and take a load off Hunter.

CU's defense should be better and those points per game numbers are from those shootouts against TCU and USC.  Getting that number below 28 with a new DC would be a good start especially in the Big 12.

Colorado is going to struggle this year.

I wonder if Bradley Van Pelt will make an appearance for the game this year. I remember losing my mind as a kid watching this play.

I haven't heard much about Bradlee Van Pelt's doings since he left Ft. Collins but it would make sense since it will be the first CU-CSU game in Ft. Collins since 1988.

When the early MWC was formed, CSU was the team to beat. Sonny Lubick had the team rolling even in the old WAC days. The Utah/CSU game in 1994 was the best ever in the series.  Both teams were undefeated, top 10 and we pulled out a win in the last 30 seconds.  McBride was an average coach with a peak of about 8 wins per year in his career, but a step up from previous dreadful Utah football. I remember going to games in a shitty, run down wood seat Rice Stadium watching Fassel run his terrible "Duck formations"  but Scott Mitchell will always be a Ute Legend in my mind.

The cool thing is, the 1994 season was awesome because we really didn't know what top 25 football was until that season. Unless you were really old going back further.  Nothing after 1994 though other than a few decent bowl wins. Something else Utah wasn't accustomed to doing.

Then enter Meyer in 2003. The rest of Ute football is good history when we pulled our head out of our ass as a program. Thanks Dr. Hill.

CSU fans have to be frustrated knowing what good football looked like and they haven't done anything since Sonny retired., He was slipping towards the end. Van Pelt kinda reminds me of Taysom Hill. Big strong, fast dude that could deliver some punishment. Much better passer than Taysom too.

You pretty much hit the nail-on-the-head w/this post @utenation.

@Chile_Ute was also at that heartbreaking loss your Ute’s dealt us in Fort Collins.  It looked like we were going to punch it in & at least tie it up, until that last minute INT at the goal line.

I also made it to two road game that yr.  Both exiting victories, over #6-Arizona & a comeback win for the WAC Title in Fresno.

One of our best seasons ever.  Y’all beating us at home & losing to Michigan in the Holiday Bowl were our only two losses of the yr.

One interesting question is whether San Diego State will join the Big 12 in 2025 or 2026.  Given the buyout with the Mountain West, 2026 is probably the more likely scenario but I hope the Aztecs can negotiate something to join in 2025. Either way, there’s a good chance San Diego State will be joining the Big 12 as defending Mountain West champs which will be interesting.

Is @StephenAztec the Boy Who Called Wolf 3x, or somebody's sock w/2-posts on this board before this.  One about anti-masking & the other guaranteeing 10-wins for CSU-Diego.

The BIG-12 won’t take Wazzu, BeaverSt, Cal-ford, etc... because they’re holding out for las Aztecas.  Interesting take Mr Aztec.

Love that narrative...would be freaking awesome if there is a repeat.

No doubt CU ends up on Fox at some point this season because of Coach Prime.

You are welcome.

That’s possible because of the Mtn West’s deal w/CBS.

It would not surprise me if some of CU’s later games get flexed off network, like the abc game against OSU. Theres better games on the schedule and they may only have 3-4 wins this year.

Won't happen.  That's Black Friday.  All the Black Friday games are locked in before the season.
