Just as placeholder and the Big 12 basketball schedule hasn't been announced yet but the SEC has the same number of conference games as the Big 12 and they just released theirs.

2024-25 SEC Men’s Basketball conference opponents announced - Southeastern Conference (secsports.com)

What I think this means for CU basketball is that the round robin games would be Kansas, Kansas State, and Oklahoma State since the AZ and UT schools would probably do round robins with each other.  That probably means the Texas schools will round robin each other and then Iowa State, UCF, UC, and WVU will round robin each other.  This might be just for one year as the new Big 12 media rights deal kicks in next year and there could be 20 conference games (currently at 18).

Buffaloes Add Danny Manning As An Assistant Coach - University of Colorado Athletics (cubuffs.com)

This was a good hire for Tad Boyle as the Buffs move back into their old stomping grounds.

Buffs could have three players drafted in next month's NBA Draft and it seems like the Buffs got some good & bigger bodies (necessity for the Big 12).  I think the Buffs will hover near the middle of the pack in the Big 12.

B12 is loaded. BYU on paper is better but will be hard pressed to be in the top 8.

ASU athletic director talk about a western pod or division for basketball. It will be interesting to see what they do. I hope BYU ends up with KU in the same pod. We have a budding potential rivalry with them. BYU fans packed Lawerence for both football and basketball games. I think it was a shock to KU fans to hear the BYU chant echoing off the Allen field house rafters. I don’t care for the Utah rivalry anymore and look forward to playing KU in both sports each year. I want to see KU develop into a rivalry similar to BSU and Gonzaga both heated good rivalries.

The middle of the pack will get you in the NCAA. 5 teams could be in the top 10 preseason

With the way Yormark has been pushing basketball as something undervalued my guess is he will try to put the best teams against each other as often as possible rather than doing a pod like system.

Yeah. I’m sure Kansas considers BYU a rival after 1 year of play. lol.  Your overrated basketball team got smoked by a very average Ute team this last year.

Not to mention , we all saw what happened to BYU in the Dance once again losing to inferior seed. What is that 10 years in a row of getting bounced in the first round?

I can understand why a BYU fan would want to not play us in football anymore after getting beat down the last 2 decades.

BTW, don’t forget. We tried to dump your filthy school in both rev sports awhile back and BYU went running to local BYU grad elected officials and made us keep you.

The B12 was vastly overrated last year.

They had 8 bids last year and not one of them made it past the S16. Including a 1,2,3,4, two 6 seeds and a 7 seed. TCU was a 9 seed.

I'll give credit for one thing.  You stick to your bullshit.  Or it sticks to you...

Kanon just signed with BYU. We might have the number one class in the nation for 2024 certainly in the top 5.

What are your thoughts Utesnation.

We were top 24 before we got a future lottery pick and Kanon a top 20 recruit. The transfer portal was pretty good as well.

Not sure where all the minutes are going.

Well, first off, I think it’s great that most BYU fans now think you’re a basketball school. Because everyone knows BYU can’t compete in football.  There’s been a lot of delusion for years at Lavell Edwards Stadium.  Hoops is only about 25% of the revenue for an athletic budget. Congrats.

Looks like you folks wasted millions of dollars on a 60K seat football stadium.  Might as well tear that 1964 piece of shit down.

As far as BYU hoops recruits, preseason championships and overpaid coaches, wake me up when you guys advance past the 1st round.  How long has it been now?  Didn’t you folks just finish 5th in the B12 and lose to an 11 seed again?😂

Until then, the world can keep watching old man move, can’t jump, slow ward ball that is common in Provo.

BYU managed a 10-8 record in its first B12 season and it’s understandable why their fans are excited for year two given the haul of newcomers this upcoming season.

At the same time, Kansas had its worst season for as long as I followed CU athletics which is 35 years and counting.  They should bounce back this year.

I will be pleasantly surprised if CU reaches .500 in B12 play this season plus at least 20 wins which is pretty much the norm for Tad Boyle.

You mean the one they sell out regularly?

Well, that’s because that’s all they have.  I think most real basketball fans of successful schools judge their program on post season play.

BYU very well could hang a banner for 5th place in the B12.

I thought we were talking about their stadium.  Moving the goal posts again.  In case you havent figured it out yet, I dont play favorites.  Robe is the a target of mine quite regularly - because he deserves it.  Yet you get your panties in a twist at the 1st hint of blowback.  Sad.
