You know those "Supplement Facts" on sports supplement product labels that look like the nutritional information on regular food? To me it seems like they all target a 2000 calorie/day diet (or 2,500 or something), which I'm sure almost every athlete burns a lot more calories and way exceeds the "recommended daily amount" for every item on the label. Even with regular food 'serving sizes' it seems pretty arbitrary, since everyone has different nutritional needs, but with sports nutrition it seems lame that out of all the product makers like eas, bodybuilding.com, GNC, etc. , only (as far as I can tell) d1sn even addresses the fact that athletes with different nutritional requirements might need a different amount of various nutrients. I'm an armchair coach, so I don't even work out enough to need supps, but if I did use them I'd definitely talk to a personal trainer to figure out what supplements are right for my body type and activity level.

Anybody out there use supplements? If so, what kind, and do you just follow the recommended serving size, or do you adjust or guesstimate how much to use if you're really active?
