Guest -AC- Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 I love pizza! So whats your favorite? I don't care... If its home made, out of a box, take and bake, from a national chain, local pizzeria, with toppings, without toppings or whatever! So, "what do you want on your tombstone?"...
Guest -AC- Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 My favorite would be the shrimp florintine pizza at this local place here in So. Oregon where I live now. When I lived in So Cal, I was younger so I liked cheaper places like Shakey's and Amicis (plain with extra cheese!). California pizza kitchen had the best bar b que chicken pizza at the time so I ate there alot too (just for the bbq chicken pizza). I still get it from the frozen food section at the market, glad they started boxing and freezing them! So i'm curious if the differant regions are putting out regional pies? For instance I have traveled the west coast pretty good and I always see differant variations of seafood on pizza (depending on what the locals are catching). So is colorado pumping out buffaloe pizza?
Guest Chile_Ute Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Hands down 'The Pie' located about 1/2 a block from the U campus. Some serious pizzas there.....can't narrow it down to just one. I thought maybe it was just nostalgia of being in college, girls, beer, pizza. But went back a year ago and ate there.....blew my mind more than the first time I set foot there. If you're in SLC, you need to clear your schedule for a pie at the Pie (no other locations meet the criteria....has to be the one just off campus). I live in ABQ now, we have 3 places that make a great wood oven pizza. Farina's makes a "Funghi"--varietal mushrooms. Scarpa's--that's where I get my BBQ chicken fix....one of the best I've had (and yes CPC makes a good one too). Il Vicino--they have several I fancy, but the kicker is this chile infused olive oil that you can drizzle on the pizza....awesome. They also do a nice job brewing their own beer....their IPA and Stout are the best IMO. AND of course you can get green chile added to anything you want here....definitely steps up the action on the ole palate. For seafood pizza, the first place I tried it has still been the best. The Moose's Tooth in Anchorage, AK. Halibut/Salmon pizza....have to admit I needed a couple pints to get the nerve up.....wasn't necessary. What a pizza. If you'll excuse me I need to go dab the drool off my shirt.

If you haven't been there good food, cold beer, fun crowd...bit on the divey side, but hey, I'm a ute.

Guest Fragglepuss Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 +1 to "The Pie" in SLC. The pizza is incredible, and so chalk full of toppings that one slice can pretty much do you in.

Guest Fragglepuss Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 LOL, yeah, like I'm stopping with one piece...."bring on the Cutthroat and a large pie, daddy's hungry!!" May I suggest the "Mountain O' Meat" for that large pie? /drool
Guest The Real U Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Others have mentioned "The Pie" I also like BigDaddy's (formerly known as Pudge Brothers) because you can get it 24/7 365 and its really good pizza. **edit** For those in Colorado I think Big Daddy's opened up a spot in the Denver area.

Good call sir. Big Daddy's 24/7 delivery is the bee's knees! It's the best when you're drunk, it's the wee hours of the morning, and you have a craving for some pizza delivery.
Guest ShaggyUte Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Wasatch Pizza - The Cajun Queen = Awesome!!!!!! Shrimp Italian Sausage Roasted Peppers Onions Mozzarella Cheese Spicy Cajun Sauce The Great Scott & The Widow maker are really good as well.
Guest uteman1011 Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 I 2nd the Pie on the Utah campus! Wasatch is super good as well. I've recently found Settebello Pizzeria in downtown Salt Lake. They make a mean Margherita pizza. I also love any with fresh tomatoes on it but I try and stay away from the really spicey pies. I have a California Pizza Kitchen 1/2 block away from my office. Pretty good pie there!
Guest Bone Crusher Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 The Old Chicago resturant chain got its start in Boulder and the original Old Chicago is on Pearl Street in Boulder. As for my favorite pizza, I basically love the "meat lovers" pizza with jalapenos and pineapples on them. I do prefer deep dished ones as well. Another local pizza chain to go to is Beau Jo's...they serve what is called mountain pies. If you take on the Colorado Legendary 14er challenge with another person, you could win $100.00, two free t-shirts, and you don't pay for a 14 pound pizza IF you eat it in one hour or less! http://www.beaujos.com/index.html

We just got a new Big Daddy's Pizza in Lakewood, CO. It will be near a light rail station when the West Corridor line opens in 2013 as well.

Hell-a-good if you ask me.
