  2. Since UNLV has been getting repeatedly kicked in the nuts here and in most media outlets these past few weeks, I thought I'd share some good news for us Rebels... The skatin' Rebels are in the ACHA hockey championship! After taking out Liberty tonight, the Rebels will play the winner of Minot State vs Adrian College for the ACHA M1 Championship! 🏒🏆 Go Rebels. 5. It’s the start of tennis season!
  6. Only about a year now. We must keep this man protected at ALL COSTS. He's like a Brian McBride clone, but a little better. Could've had 3 today instead of 2. Scores every game. Holds up play. Hustles his damn ass off and creates problems. https://x.com/SkyBetChamp/status/1893360108203319812
  7. Both Cal Poly SLO and San Francisco State have announced they are cutting several teams from their athletic programs. Budget issues are being cited by the Universities as the reason. Cal Poly is projecting a $24.2 million budget reduction University-wide next year. SFSU is cutting its University budget by $25 million. Cal Poly SLO will eliminate its mens and womens swim and dive teams. 29 men and 29 women athletes will be impacted. The coaching positions will end in April. Additionally Cal Poly's other athletic teams may be facing reductions in budgets. Cal Poly competes in the Big West for all sports except football and wrestling. https://www.sanluisobispo.com/news/local/education/cal-poly-university/article301657209.html https://mustangnews.net/cal-poly-swimming-dive-cuts/ San Francisco State is cutting its baseball, men’s soccer and women’s indoor track and field teams. The teams will end on July 1. 44 athletes are impacted. 8. If you signup for MLB.TV can you watch any team you want and your favorite team for all 162 games? My wife is a big Giants fan and I’m a Dodgers fans so I was thinking of signing up for the whole seasons games if you can.
  9. Congrats on your debut win against the galaxy. I wasn't able to check out your team's debut. Any Diegos watch the game?
  10. 4 years, up to $60 million with $32 million guaranteed. Their pass and catch statistics for last year were unbelievable.

  14. The Yankees ownership has changed the policy on beards. But there are rules, including keeping the old hair length policy. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/yankees-change-infamous-facial-hair-policy-players-can-now-have-well-groomed-beards-hal-steinbrenner-says/ https://www.mlb.com/news/yankees-change-facial-hair-policy
  15. Canada survived a scare from Sweden last night. USA and Finland tied 1-1 at the first intermission. It’s going to be a tough game tonight, Finns have a system that works really well in these tournaments. Live on ESPN.

  17. I’m captaining my own mixed doubles team. Lots of reasons went into why I decided to. One of the biggest reasons why is because one captain offered my co-captain but not me. My co-captain tried to get both of us on the team, but the guy refused to take me. He thought that he could get my co-captain to come around and join without me. Little did he know that I was gonna make my own team. Now he has neither of us. 😂 I would’ve said yes because it would’ve been an easy ride to sectionals. I legitimately think I’ve put together a team that can beat him. 🦾
  18. Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is expected to accept an offer to coach the Saints after the Super Bowl, per FOX Sports reporter Jordan Schultz. While Moore has remained focused on Sunday’s title game, the 36-year-old OC has reportedly made some calls during the two-week break regarding his potential staff in New Orleans. https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/report_reveals_saints_next_head_coach/s1_127_41724351
  19. Fun fact. The marching band at SBI was the Pride of Arizona from The University of Arizona.
  20. Watched this meet on WWS back in the '60s. On Peacock (replay) and starting off hot. The HS kid who made the 4*400 Oly relay team is matched up in the 600m against some 800m guys. Grant Fisher (Bronze 10,000) vs. Cole Hocker (Gold 1500) will scorch. Former football WR won the men's 60m.
  21. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/43726453/commanders-daniels-named-top-offensive-rookie-nfl-honors In the biggest surprise of Thursday night's NFL Honors ceremony in New Orleans, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen overcame the prevailing trend to beat Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson for The Associated Press' NFL Most Valuable Player award. Allen is the first player in 21 seasons to capture MVP without being named first-team All-Pro. Since MVP was first handed out in 1957, the only other players to win the award despite not being a first-team All-Pro were Broncos quarterback John Elway (1987) and Titans quarterback Steve McNair (2003). Even though Allen trailed Jackson in nearly every major statistical category, the prevailing narrative was the Bills QB accomplished more with less. After losing his top two wide receivers -- Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis -- Allen led the Bills to the AFC East title and the second-best record in the AFC (13-4). Allen became the first player in NFL history to record at least 25 touchdown passes, 10 touchdown runs and fewer than 10 interceptions in a season. He finished with 28 touchdown passes, 12 rushing touchdowns and six interceptions. any thoughts @Warbow ?
  22. Sonoma State is ending its entire D2 athletic program at the end of this current academic year. The University is facing a severe budget crunch. Student enrollments have declined by 38% since 2015. Additionally the California State University systemwide is dealing with budget cuts. Besides the entire athletic program, SSU is cutting 46 faculty positions, eliminating 22 degree programs, closing 6 academic departments, and also cutting management and staff positions. The Sonoma State Seawolves have competed in the D2 California Collegiate Athletic Association since 1998 fielding seven women’s teams (basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, track and field and volleyball) and four men’s teams (baseball, basketball, golf and soccer). We are likely to see many other smaller athletic programs have to follow the same path. https://budget.sonoma.edu/sites/budget/files/2025-01/Message from the President 1_22 FINAL (1).pdf https://www.pressdemocrat.com/article/news/sonoma-state-ssu-rohnert-park-cuts/

A lot will come down to what Linda McMahon decides when she takes over the Department of Education - she was an athlete herself and was CEO of WWE when the company exploded in popularity. https://youtu.be/WutKGeQZDPI?si=d9t3r24w008oXphd
