Basketballs (mens or womens) biggest super star, Clark started her MVP campaign off with a triple double (still 2 minutes to play as off this post) and a staggering 4 blocks, continuing to prove she is the most talented female PG of all time as the fever boat race Reese and the Sky on ABC. @RSF the Fever and Clark could use some of your potent Juju (Moore is a bad OC, Clark not good enough for Oly Team, Gordon more talented than Jeanty, etc...)

Lamine Yamal. 17 years old. I've been so excited about him for the last year and today he shined on the world stage in the Champions League semifinals. Barcelona and Inter Milan tied 3-3, but damn this kid is a joy to watch! Once in a generation talent?

It's about halfway now to the 60-hour time limit. It's looking like no finishers this year with just two runners, multi-finisher John Kelly and a Japanese runner (Tomo) the only competitors to start loop 3 (of 5), but both over pace (12 hours per loop). Iconic sporting event especially in this age of bling everywhere. Last year there were 5 finishers and the first woman ever -- Jasmine Paris getting to the finish gate with 99 seconds to spare before the clock hit 60:00:00. Laz (race guru) no doubt lengthened the loop and/or added more scrambling this year to increase difficulty as has done before. Jasmine's post-finish last year:

@NorthWestCowboy and @Iam4wyo, Utah is fired up and ready to go. First pre-season home game tonight. They’ve done construction on the Delta Center to make it better for hockey. Construction is also underway for our first class hockey practice/office facilities. It will be done next year. I’m still getting used to the rules and strategies but let’s get a season thread fired up. @UNLV2001 and @SharkTanked Utah’s first and second lines will be playing tonight.

Basketball Hall of Famer Gregg Popovich will no longer be head coach of the San Antonio Spurs and is transitioning to a full-time role as the team's president of basketball operations, sources told ESPN on Friday. Popovich, 76, has been in the Spurs front office since May 1994 and served as head coach since the 1996-1997 season. The legendary Popovich is the NBA's all-time winningest coach with 1,422 regular season victories and guided the Spurs to five NBA championships. Popovich is also a three-time NBA Coach of the Year award winner, tied with Don Nelson and Pat Riley for the most in league history. Popovich suffered a mild stroke on Nov. 2 and did not return during the season. Assistant coach Mitch Johnson took over on an interim basis to lead San Antonio to a record of 31-45 under his watch. Popovich has been involved throughout the Spurs' offseason and will continue to be a vital member of the franchise's day-to-day operations, sources said. Popovich has even been present in the Spurs' facility in recent days, and as much as he wanted to return to his place on the sidelines, he came to the conclusion that he no longer could move forward with the taxing grind of being an NBA head coach, sources said. He has been making steady progress with his health in recovery from the November stroke, sources added. Popovich began his Spurs career as an assistant to Larry Brown in 1988, serving in that role for four seasons before a brief stint under Nelson with the Golden State Warriors. He has been the Spurs head coach since December 1996, when he fired Bob Hill after a 3-15 start and took over on the bench. After San Antonio missed the playoffs that season and landed the No. 1 pick, taking Tim Duncan, Popovich led the Spurs to 22 consecutive playoff seasons from 1998-2019, including winning at least 50 games in 18 straight campaigns. He ranks third all-time in career coaching playoff wins, and is one of five coaches ever to win at least five titles along with Phil Jackson (11), Red Auerbach (nine), John Kundla (five) and Riley (five). Popovich is credited as a pillar of the Spurs, partnering with Duncan, David Robinson, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Kawhi Leonard across a dynasty era of championships in 1999, 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2014. Popovich had an emotional meeting with Spurs players Feb. 27, and he issued a statement at that time that he wouldn't be returning this season but hoped to return in the future. He was hospitalized on April 15 after a medical incident at a local San Antonio restaurant, but returned home in the days after and has been feeling much better. Popovich had been the oldest coach in NBA history. He agreed to a five-year contract extension with the team in 2023. He also served as the head coach of the United State men's national basketball team for the 2019 FIBA World Championships and the Tokyo Olympics, where the U.S. won its fourth consecutive gold medal. With Popovich stepping aside as coach, the title of longest tenured active NBA head coach falls to Erik Spoelstra, who has led the Miami Heat since the 2008-09 season. Spoelstra and Popovich faced off in back-to-back NBA Finals in 2013 and 2014, each winning once. The next longest-tenured coach is Steve Kerr, who won the last two of his five championships as a player under Popovich before embarking on a successful coaching career with the Warriors in 2014. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/44967466/sources-popovich-done-coaching-spurs-staying-front-office Even though I knew it was coming, and it's for his own good because of his health issues, this is still gutting. This man is the only coach I've known for the team (except for Johnson as the interim this last season) for as long as I've been a fan, dating back 20 years. Now it's time to hire Becky Hammon back and make her the first woman to be the head coach of an NBA team.

Yesterday, Marco, polio, Rubio announce the US is revoking all Visas issued to South Sudanese citizens in the U.S. This impacts many College rosters including Kkaman Maluach of Duke and SDSU RS Frosh David Majak, who gives Magoon Gwath fits in practice Aztec Coaches think he could be better than Goon. And numerous others. All being deported because of a racist Prez who has successfully played to Maga fear. Y'all feeling safer now, knowing these young men who are using basketball to earn degrees so they can go back and help their shit holes get better are being removed ? Outside of hating Duke or SDSU what did these kids do to make y'all feel unsafe and angry ? Celebrate the fact that DJT has played a role in bringing SDSU back to the pack. https://www.themirror.com/sport/basketball/duke-khaman-maluach-marco-rubio-1074894

Hall of Famer Steve "Mongo" McMichael, a stalwart member of the dominant Chicago Bears famed "46 defense" of the 1980s who ranks second in franchise history with 92.5 sacks, has died at the age of 67, the NFL announced Wednesday. McMichael was diagnosed with ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, in 2021. He was scheduled to be moved into hospice care on Wednesday. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2024. McMichael played one season for the New England Patriots and one with the Green Bay Packers, but it was the 13 seasons in between with the Bears where he made his mark, including playing in a team-record 191 consecutive games. In total, McMichael played in 207 games between 1981-94. The defensive tackle won a Super Bowl (1985) and was twice selected first-team All-Pro and to the Pro Bowl. He had at least seven sacks in seven straight seasons (1983 to 1989), second only among Bears players to Richard Dent's 10-year streak. In August 2023, McMichael was announced as one of 12 senior semifinalists for the 2024 class and was later one of three players picked by the Hall of Fame's senior committee. He had previously been nominated for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014 and 2015 and made it past the first cut of candidates twice before coming up short of a selection. McMichael's wife, Misty, actively campaigned for her husband's enshrinement as his battle with ALS wore on and took away his ability to move or speak, which left him bedridden during the last years of his life. McMichael had signed a "do not resuscitate" form in 2023 before his condition began to worsen. Upon learning he was one of the senior semifinalists last August, McMichael informed his wife that he wanted to rip up the DNR and wager on in his fight against ALS as he awaited word on his selection. On Jan. 24, McMichael received a call from Dent, his former Bears teammate, informing him of his selection to the 2024 class along with fellow Chicago greats Devin Hester and Julius Peppers. McMichael was at his home in Homer Glen, Illinois, when he was officially announced as a Hall inductee at NFL Honors while his wife represented him on stage in Las Vegas. McMichael chipped in with eight sacks during the 1985 regular season -- and added another in the Super Bowl XX win over the New England Patriots -- and was a first-team All-Pro selection as he started every game that season. He controlled the interior of the line for a defense that ranked No. 1 in fewest points allowed, fewest yards allowed and takeaways that season -- in addition to allowing just 10 points in three playoff wins -- and is considered by many to be the best ever after leading Chicago to an 18-1 record. McMichael, who finished with 95 career sacks, also had 847 career tackles, 13 forced fumbles, 17 fumble recoveries, 2 interceptions and 3 recorded safeties in 213 career games. His 92.5 sacks with the Bears ranks second in team history to Dent. While McMichael was often overshadowed by Hall of Famers Mike Singletary and Dent, he was instrumental to the Bears' success. Bears head coach Mike Ditka said McMichael was the toughest player that he ever coached. McMichael finished his career with the rival Packers in 1994, but he liked to tell people in retirement that the only reason he signed with the Bears' bitter rival was to "steal their money and whup their ass again!" McMichael was drafted by the Patriots in the third round of the 1980 NFL draft out of Texas, where the Houston native was a unanimous first-team All-America selection for a notoriously stingy defense and left as the Longhorns' all-time leader in career tackles (369) and sacks (30). He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2010. After football, "Mongo" had a career resurgence as a professional wrestler with World Championship Wrestling (WCW), where he won the United States Heavyweight Championship as a member of the famed "Four Horsemen" group led by Ric Flair. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/44823944/hall-famer-bears-icon-steve-mongo-mcmichael-dies-age-67

It was one hell of a run since 1962. Per Brett McMurphy Big West will vote Friday to extend an official invitation to Cal Baptist & Utah Valley in 2026, sources said. Big West officials recently visited both campuses. Big West adding Cal Baptist & Utah Valley to replacing departing members Hawaii & UC Davis to Mountain West 4:01 PM · Feb 24, 2025 Per Dom Izzo Mike has been on this for about a year. I was told that it's likely Southern Utah and Utah Tech will be added to the Summit League soon. League would be at 11 schools, which is still not ideal. Those school's football programs would remain in the UAC. inforum.com McFeely's Tip Sheet: Utah schools closer to joining Summit League

Let me just preface this by saying- I have no skin in this game, other than I love baseball. I’m a Red Sox fan, but still believe the A’s moving to Vegas is just bad all around for baseball. Looks like moving to Sacramento for 2 seasons is turning into a logistical nightmare. Between conflicting dates with the River Cats, inadequate facilities for an MLB team and the Sacramento summer heat, Fisher is under fire for the lack of foresight into all this. Not to mention leaving one of the biggest markets in the US to what would be the absolute smallest market (by far) in the MLB. Also, it appears the amount of private funding Fisher needs to get the stadium done might be very difficult to get. Very curious to see how this all developes the next several months. The A’s just might as well as work with Oakland (or another city) to get a deal done. I can see this it happening. Even Vegas born players thinks it’s an awful idea. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/as-proposed-relocation-to-las-vegas-a-terrible-idea-as-mlb-players-blast-owner-john-fishers-plans/amp/

The best day of the year, in my opinion! Go Sox. Fuck the Yankees!

Anybody with a brain knows the Joker should win this unanimously. He should have the last time he lost as well. This should not even be a question. He is having a better season than Lebron James ever fucking dreamed of having. Is this proof of reverse racism? We all know the only reason Jeanty did not win the Heisman was that Coach Prime was a loud vibrant black man who the media was in love with. He was easily, by far, the best player in college football but had a white Christain coach instead of a black media whore celebrity. It seems, having "black power" movement on your side is a major factor in who wins awards lately.
