Oregon, for sure. I went to the UO, whereas the Seahawks are a distant third in my pro fandom behind the Blazers and Mariners. I’d trade 10 Super Bowls for the Blazers winning the Finals or the M’s winning a WS.

1. Wazzu 2. Boise State 3. Oregon State 4. UNLV 5-12. Several teams with the ability to sink or swim in conference play, but most haven’t stood out (good or bad) to separate from the pack. 13. New Mexico 14. Wyoming

Looking at some positives this morning: Adjustments for the win. After starting the game again with what didn’t work against Idaho, the OL got shuffled and the good vibes took hold. James got going running the ball, and the sacks stopped. Things should get even better when Bedford comes back. This was the #1 “oh shit” worry after Idaho, but I’m less concerned now. Still work to do but I see a path forward. I don’t see a lot of teams matching up with Stewart, Tez, and Holden. Top to bottom I can’t recall a better WR group here. Not too long ago we ran out Johnny Johnson and Jaylon Redd and said “this is the best we can do.” Wild. I’m fine with the defensive performance? 34 points, bad. I get that. But the only play that really pissed me off was Jeanty’s 70 yarder immediately after the first fumble. Totally no-showed gap containment there. But the rest? A player like Jeanty is going to get his, and you aren’t going to shut out a team like Boise. How many scoring drives came off short fields? I think they started in our territory 3 or 4 times. The defense made plenty of stops and came up huge the last few possessions. I don’t think we’re a serious challenger to Ohio State right now. We definitely underestimated JPP’s loss, and Bo Nix’s overall wizardry leading the offense. But the pollyanna take I’m choosing to run with right now is we also looked pretty mid after week two last year, surviving a rock fight with a mediocre Texas Tech team. Ended up a field goal away from the CFP. Just need to keep getting better.

You can take a team out of a conference but you can’t take the Pac-12 After Dark out of the team.

My advice to Oregon would be to play better.

We’re on Peacock this weekend.

I have YouTube TV, so no issue here.

Week 2 notables in the B1G: Duke (1-0) vs Northwestern (1-0) Texas (1-0) vs Michigan (1-0) Iowa St (1-0) vs Iowa (1-0) Michigan St (1-0) vs Maryland (1-0) Kansas (1-0) vs Illinois (1-0) Colorado (1-0) vs Nebraska (1-0) Boise St (1-0) vs Oregon (1-0) Washington hosts Eastern Michigan, USC hosts Utah St, and UCLA has that coveted week two bye. Texas/Michigan is probably the headliner, and the Prime circus will invade Lincoln. But there’s some sneaky good games here, including Michigan St and Maryland fighting to not be the first team to ever be all alone in 18th place in the B1G. A week ago I was sure we’d get the Boise St monkey off our back, but getting taken to the wire by Idaho will change your perspective some. Hopefully it was just a quirky aberration we’ll look back on as an unexplained phenomena, but until I can see otherwise with my own eyes it’s hard to shake how weirdly ineffective our o-line was against the worst defensive front we’ll see all season.

Pac-12 is gonna be lit this year.

Yep. My litmus test for week one hot takes was set in 2000 when I went to Eastern Washington/Oregon State. Beavs had to fight for their lives to squeak out a 21-19 win. Fans were grumbling on the way out. Three months later, they capped the best season in school history and finished #4 in the country. 🤷♂️ Yesterday was bad but the season could still go a million different ways. We’ll know more soon, Boise has always had our number.

Schwartzy’s thoughts after a quick film review.

I can only hope they remembered beating their FCS opponent 81-7 last year, saw Idaho on the schedule, and put in an all-timer of a no-show appearance. But it’s hard to say, because all we have to go on is this ass backwards performance.

It’s not ideal but it doesn’t excuse this. This has been a trash 50 minutes of football. Another 10 minutes of this and it’s basketball season.

Gabriel can throw a six yard dart better than anyone in the country. Everything else, I don’t fucking know. This is a Mario Cristobal ass game.

haha yeah let’s all watch UCLA, no need to check in on Oregon, seriously Bruins what’s going on? but seriously don’t switch channels
