  1. I think it’s interesting that people double Oregon’s stated collective amount but take Ohio State’s at face value. I would assume Oregon’s number is likely closer to your estimate than the estimates reported to the NCAA, but I would assume Ohio State’s is much larger as well.
  2. welp, try again next year. I was pleased how we out-schemed them in the first meeting, bridging the talent edge tOSU presents and stealing a win. Fast forward to today, and we got brutally out-schemed on both sides. Credit to them for learning and adjusting and getting better, because we certainly didn’t do those things. In a few weeks I think we’ll find this was a buzzsaw and they end up winning the whole thing. I don’t know what happened after the Michigan loss, but holy shit.
  3. Like I’ve always said, you simply can’t go into halftime up 30 against us. We’re too good.
  4. I’m glad Jimmy Carter isn’t alive to see this.
  5. I actually don’t have a problem with this, Herbert is proving to be a better pro player than a college one. I loathed the Arroyo/Cristobal offense Herbs was forced to run his junior/senior years. Ward looks like a very talented chap, if I were invested in this I’d probably argue Herbert won a Rose Bowl and Ward never really beat anyone of note in his entire career, missing out on an opportunity to play the two best teams in the ACC this year… but that’s just me. Both are still well, well below Sewell.
  6. Since 1-2 were all but locked up, I was just hoping Gabriel finished ahead of Ward. Duck Twitter is running with Mario’s comments about Ward being the best player he’s ever coached, turning it into a Ward vs Herbert argument, but my first thought was did Mario forget he coached Penei Sewell? Sewell’s the best player Mario ever coached, and very likely the best player he’ll ever coach.
  7. Classic Big 10 trap game.
  8. Your B1G champs are going to have to earn it. If things play out by seed, we’re looking at games against Ohio State, Texas, and Georgia to win it all. I didn’t realize James Franklin was such a bitch.
  9. Been waiting 30 years for another crack at Penn St. Let’s goooooo
  10. After needing big late rallies to get past a few middling WCC teams I wasn’t expecting to beat Texas A&M, San Diego St, or Mysterious Unnamed Team #3 in the Players Era Festival, but we took out A&M today. As is our way, we were down double digits with about 10 minutes to go before a 16-0 run gave us our first lead. Nice Q1 win.
  11. *the most obvious block in the block ever* Joel Klatt: Oh wow I don’t know about that.
  12. Explosion plays have really disappeared. Drives just seem labored, even the ones that end in points. Someone smarter than me needs to break down the film to see if Gabriel is missing opportunities, or if Stein is calling vanilla games, or if we’re just struggling to get open consistently without Tez. We beat tOSU and Boise by stretching the field. I know it’s there.
  13. this is not ideal
  14. Why do B1G officials think d-lines can’t move laterally before the snap?
