  1. I don’t think there will be many players as good as Travis Hunter for awhile. Last time I saw a good two way player besides Woodson at Michigan was an Oklahoma State player in the late 1990s or early 2000s. Name escapes me but those players are still very rare. CU has three two-way players at the most and the other two are just not as elite athletically as Travis Hunter. One of those two did show some promise but that’s something to look forward to next year.
  2. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/42951603/way-too-early-2025-heisman-trophy-contenders-college-football ASU’s Leavitt is one of the too early favorites for the 2025 Heisman.
  3. Why worry when he just needs to hand the ball to Jeanty? But yeah having a good backup QB ready to go is ideal. Reminds me of CU winning the Orange Bowl against Nate Dame (and the 1990 NC) with the backup QB.
  4. I hope Hunter is the beginning of more two way players in college football.
  5. You should see what they are going to replace that with.
  6. Saw Sewell play for the Eagles recently…he’s good. I don’t have a dog in that Duck Twitter space but Ward led a school that just moved up to FCS from D2 and did well for them and repeated that at WSU & Miami. Ward does warrant being the first QB taken in next spring’s NFL draft but he won’t have to deal with the NYC media since Shedeur is probably going to the Giants. I think I’d have taken Ward over Herbert too.
  7. It was always going to be a big step up for either school in basketball but with the portal, it could just take a couple of seasons instead of four or five years.
  8. Coach Prime already said that Hunter and his son will play in the Alamo Bowl. Hunter will be also well rested…those BYU kids might not know what hit them. I have said on this board that I’m not a fan of Coach Prime’s sons but after watching this trio for two seasons, Hunter is a very likable person and has his head screwed on right. He was living in a hotel with his family and is doing everything he can to have a successful life. He already bought his mother a nice five room home in Savanah, GA with his NIL earnings. Better that Hunter won the Heisman instead of Shedeur Sanders. Next season is going to be so fresh (and maybe painful) as a CU fan.
  9. Hey you got the playoffs. CU missed out on a chance to play for a chance to get into the CFP thanks to a four way tie in the Big 12. Best of luck in the playoffs. I hope you win it all so those SEC homers can stuff it.
  10. #19 is retired by CU but it took a long time for that to happen. Going to be curious to see what happens to #12.
  11. Jeanty won Far West by just three votes. Overall a close one. The run to the Heisman doesn’t always start the same year it occurs. Sometimes it starts once you set foot on campus or the previous season. Hunter was hyped even before he signed with Jackson State and Coach Prime. Just look at his high school numbers at the top classification of Georgia…just wow. CU does have another player or two that might play both ways but they do not have the elite athleticism that Hunter has. One of those two has seen some game time this season. He’s no Hunter.
  12. His mother was there.
  13. All of this while the US Congress hasn't done jack to address the issue.
  14. So the semifinals would be Montana State and Dakota schools?
  15. Hope he has a honest agent...been hearing stories about how agents charge more percentagewise than NFL agents.
  16. The bump in pay to be BSU's QB will be too much to pass up.
  17. As for future NFL careers, I think Jeanty will have the better & longer career. All those plays that Hunter has played is just more mileage on his body.
  18. Think Persons will stay at CSU if someone offers him more money thanks to that Heisman worthy play.
  19. Watched a lot of Michigan games that year...Woodson was great as a DB and made some plays but Hunter is just on a higher level overall. Don't think CU will see another player like that for a long time if not in my lifetime.
  20. I can only imagine how much more dangerous Hunter would be if he only played offense.
  21. The Air Raid isn't just about passing the ball. It's about spreading defenses out not only with the WRs but the OL having wider gaps between the linemen. When Leach had Baker Mayfield at TT for one season, I was taken back by how Leach was having Mayfield run the ball more than any previous TT QB thanks to how spread out the opposing defense was. Now I think Air Raid concepts are just in about every playbook out there.
  22. Hunter made a very big play against Baylor where he knocked the ball out of the Baylor ballcarrier's hands during OT that sealed the win for the Buffs and set the tone for the Buffs during Big 12 play leading to a 7-2 record in conference play. That was a Heisman worthy play.
  23. Again, those bias are against the MWC which was clearly below average this year…just four bowl teams right? Call me a troll all you want but the truth is the MWC sucked this year and it’s having an impact on those awards.
