Yes he was. They say he runs the air raid but this season Marshall had more rushing attempts and yards than passing so....

The Air Raid isn't just about passing the ball.  It's about spreading defenses out not only with the WRs but the OL having wider gaps between the linemen.  When Leach had Baker Mayfield at TT for one season, I was taken back by how Leach was having Mayfield run the ball more than any previous TT QB thanks to how spread out the opposing defense was.

Now I think Air Raid concepts are just in about every playbook out there.

I do fully expect Hunter to win it.  My point is that it won't be because he's the best player, it will be because of the hype and media bias for the P4 that you just pointed out as the reason Hunter will win it.  We agree.  Jeanty is better but Hunter had more exposure and hype.

By the way, Hunters Heisman campaign has made it very well known that excels in the classroom.  Good for him, but so what.  CSU has an undergrad doing some great work with nuclear fusion.  Should we give him the Heisman?

Hunter made a very big play against Baylor where he knocked the ball out of the Baylor ballcarrier's hands during OT that sealed the win for the Buffs and set the tone for the Buffs during Big 12 play leading to a 7-2 record in conference play.

That was a Heisman worthy play.

Jeanty should win it, but he won't.  Hunter will take the trophy.  P4, folks.  I'm a Travis Hunter fan as far as his performance justifies it.  It takes more than stamina to play both ways in college.  It also takes a pretty solid brain to absorb and execute the game plan on both sides of the ball.  TH is a fantastic player, he's just not the best player in CFB in '24.  It's that simple.

Many here do not know that Travis Hunter has excelled in the classroom just as well as he has excelled on the playing field.  He’s an one of a kind and those people generally win honors such as the Heisman.

He also only missed one half of a game this year.  Also CU was on the major tv networks (not espn…I mean abc, cbs, nbc, and fox for instance) more than they ever was on during a season…even more than the 1990’s glory years.  Jeanty didn’t have that kind of coverage and that is the way life goes in those cases.

At least two CU losses were pinned on Sheduer Sanders’ inability to get the offense going so you really couldn’t put the blame on Hunter for those losses.

Jeanty would win the award any other year.

  4. Been a challenge to keep up with all the honors Travis Hunter has gotten.  Last night he got three major awards: Walter Camp, Chuck Bednarki, and the Biletnikoff in addition the AP player of the year.  With that latter award, Hunter’s chances of winning the Heisman went up.

It’s a pretty safe bet that Hunter wins the Heisman.

Interesting that the SEC didn't increase since Texas was in the SEC CCG and it's also notable that Texas played in last year's Big 12 CCG so the Big 12 CCG numbers are down as a result.

West Virginia expected to hire Rich Rod. I was hoping for Jimbo. Oh well...let's go Mountaineers!

I loved watching his offenses at Arizona and was bummed he was fired for what he did off the field.  Given what I have seen from WVU on offense, the transition to Rich Rod shouldn't be too difficult.

I did and they very well might end up at 2-10 next year. I think some are missing my original point where I was eluding to the fact that it is harder to turn a program around in a conference like the Big 10 than the MWC because of the level of competition.

You are also overlooking the point not every Big Ten team will be facing Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State in the same division each season and that is how the scheduling will work out for some less fortunate Big Ten teams such as Indiana & Purdue.  Outside those blue blood, the difference between the worst to the best of the non-blue blood teams is minimal.  Not much different from the Big 12 in that case.

Odom just needs to find his QB and he very well could get a winning season next year and the year after that.

I’m not saying what Odom did at UNLV wasn’t incredible, but rebuilding in the MWC and competing against MWC competition is one thing. Rebuilding and competing against the likes of Ohio St., Oregon, Penn St., Michigan, Wisconsin and the rest of the Big 10 is another.

You might want to take a look at their 2025 and 2026 schedules especially the2026 schedule.  Not too difficult and any decent coach would have taken the Purdue job in that situation.

  9. Should be a great season for Utah season ticket holders.

It seems like a good number of potential B12 contenders will be visiting Salt Lake City.  I'm not ready to name CU one of those teams though but ASU, TT, KSU, and Cincy will be tough outs including Kansas who will be returning their explosive QB.  If Utah can find a good QB and plug that guy in, they can contend for the B12 title.

WVU will have a new head coach and perhaps a new starting QB (depending on the portal) so I think Utah takes that one.

Utah should crush both UCLA & Wyoming next season and they simply have a scrimmage against Cal Poly.  No way Utah has a second straight losing season.

I’m trying not to pay attention until next fall.

That was me last summer. With the transfer portal during the summer, what's the point of the spring football game besides trying to separate the men from the boys?
