  1. I'm feeling a bit heartened today. My wife and I retired 3-1/2 years ago to a small town in a red county of western Washington. When we first moved in, there were lots of "Don't Blame Me, I Voted for Trump" and "Let's Go Brandon" flags around the town. Most all of those are gone now, and I've noticed more Harris/Walz signs lately. I took a totally unscientific survey this afternoon while driving around town. Final results: 23 Harris signs, seven Trump signs. (The crazy dude who has about 10 Trump signs in his yard counts as only one.)

Does one thing define any of us?   Family, friends, faith, the work we do, the food we enjoy, the books we read all define us to some extent.

In this case, under the pussy/not a pussy rubric, my vehicle clearly defines me as not a pussy.

I've seen women driving the truck you describe. What does that make them?

    I think it's probably compensation - for something. 🤣

No, they're absolutely not.  High-speed rail dominates Japan, Europe, etc.  Mass transport is the answer to our CO2 problem, not EVs.

You're not wrong, but few other countries built the sort of car culture the U.S, has simply because of the distances involved. In post-WWII America, the "American Dream" of living in a single family house with a car (or three) in the "safe and clean" suburbs was born, and it hasn't changed much in 70 years. EVs can be an effective answer if we can get ourselves off of coal and oil and gas electricity generation. But then there are the batteries to deal with.

Anyone over the age of 30 in a pro sports jersey

I'm well past 30 and I don't own any jerseys, pro or college, but I really don't have a problem with it unless it has a player's name on it. A lot of Seahawks fans wear No. 12 jerseys with "FAN" on the back. That seems fine.

My "old man yells at cloud" vent: I hate tailgaters.

  5. Thank you all for the responses. This board certainly needed an infusion of posters, but I was just confused. I'm looking forward to the upcoming season.

Utenation: Yeah, I spent the past month building a deck, so I've been out-of-pocket, as they say. Hopefully I'll be around more often going forward, but my wife has me building a Murphy bed right now, and then a resin storage shed for my mower, BBQ, etc.  And I thought retirement would be me being a lazy fuck all the time. No such luck.

Sorry to hear about Orange, but the guy is extreme at times.

Much better & safer than Fentanyl which is killing Americans these days.

The one conspiracy theory I believe is that the Chinese are trying to destroy the U.S. with fentanyl.

  7. I'd love to see this board stick around in some form or another. I feel like it needs a clever name to draw more attention from all of us displaced fans. Let's put our heads together, kids!

    How 'bout Pac-12 Zombies?

Many fear that he will turn Tuscaloosa into Tuscalooser.

I think you meant "Tusca-loser." It's a common mistake, Many people don't know that the word "loser" only has one "o."

Winning the SEC Championship is just a formality in the process of playing for a NC.

    Maybe not  so much anymore.

While Deboer and his family appear to be good people, on many levels, I'm afraid that Deboer will be blinded by the reality of life in the SEC

What the hell is that even supposed to mean? And by the way it's DeBoer.

  9. I'm torn on the whole thing.

On one hand, it's the last gasp of the Pac-12, and to see the league go out on top would be magnificent, and poetic. And although they lost to UW twice, Oregon might take some solace in only being defeated by the undefeated champions.

    OTOH, it's fuckin' Washington.

If Alabama makes the CFP, I believe they will win the NC in a repeat game with Texas.

And I expect Texas (a future SEC team) to dominate and win the CFP Championship,

So which is it, Albert? You are unbelievably error prone.

Texas "easily" beats UW - 56-10.

Seriously? This is probably the worst take I've ever seen from you, and that's a ridiculously high bar.

Be glad that they aren't playing Ohio State, or Georgia, or Ole Miss, or Missouri, or Penn State, or FSU .

You're lumping Ole Miss, Mizzou and Penn State in with Ohio State and Georgia? And you call Pac-12 fans "delusional?"

it's an odd thing to claim it's because of the "east coast vote."

It's just numbers. No one is claiming "bias" I don't think.

Seventy percent of the population lives east of the Mississippi River, and it's probably reasonable to assume that a similar percentage of the 900+ Heisman voters also live in the eastern part of the country. It's also reasonable to assume that at least half of the Heisman voters pay little to no attention to the sport.

Had Oregon won the Pac-12 Championship, I think Nix might have won it based solely on name recognition.

This guy didn't turn down ESPN's $30 million offer in 2022. Presidents foolishly did.

As I recall, it was an OSU economics professor who told the league they were worth $50M per year, per team. It's time for OSU and WSU to admit their culpability. They supported Scott and GK for far too long.

    Fuck college football.   I’m done.

Hang in there my friend. I think it'll come back to normal-ish in a few years.

I was watching Iowa/Nebraska yesterday and thinking, "This is Oregon's future?" It's fuckin' ugly.
