have a bitch session toward Trump because he proposed a solution.

I don't think this is a solution, it's just part of the smokescreen, along with annexing Greenland, the Panama Canal, and making Canada the 51st state. It's designed to distract attention away from the coup. It's all just bullshit.

Never said the most all time.   Since Boise has been included as an option.  It’s actually pretty impressive.  Made some noise there for sure.

So you're saying that prior to 2006, Boise State wasn't an option for the Fiesta Bowl? Weren't they technically eligible for that game beginning in 1996?

That's kinda like me saying that since Oregon won its first Rose Bowl in 95 years, they've won more than any other school. It's true, but it's pretty arbitrary

I think Boise has the best bracket.  Would rather play either of the teams Boise will get than either of the teams Oregon will get.

That's fair, but it's the old expression - to be the best you have to beat the best. Penn State or SMU might be an easier opponent than tOSU or Tennessee, but at the same time, BSU is on Georgia's and Notre Dame's side of the bracket. If all you want is to make the quarterfinals, then you're good. Otherwise, if a tough road for everyone.

I think Oregon at Wisconsin could be tough, depending on the weather.

It gets a ton of snow there in November sometimes.

The current forecast is 54 degrees and cloudy. That sounds like Eugene.

  5. I'm feeling a bit heartened today. My wife and I retired 3-1/2 years ago to a small town in a red county of western Washington. When we first moved in, there were lots of "Don't Blame Me, I Voted for Trump" and "Let's Go Brandon" flags around the town. Most all of those are gone now, and I've noticed more Harris/Walz signs lately. I took a totally unscientific survey this afternoon while driving around town. Final results: 23 Harris signs, seven Trump signs. (The crazy dude who has about 10 Trump signs in his yard counts as only one.)

Does one thing define any of us?   Family, friends, faith, the work we do, the food we enjoy, the books we read all define us to some extent.

In this case, under the pussy/not a pussy rubric, my vehicle clearly defines me as not a pussy.

I've seen women driving the truck you describe. What does that make them?

    I think it's probably compensation - for something. 🤣

No, they're absolutely not.  High-speed rail dominates Japan, Europe, etc.  Mass transport is the answer to our CO2 problem, not EVs.

You're not wrong, but few other countries built the sort of car culture the U.S, has simply because of the distances involved. In post-WWII America, the "American Dream" of living in a single family house with a car (or three) in the "safe and clean" suburbs was born, and it hasn't changed much in 70 years. EVs can be an effective answer if we can get ourselves off of coal and oil and gas electricity generation. But then there are the batteries to deal with.

Anyone over the age of 30 in a pro sports jersey

I'm well past 30 and I don't own any jerseys, pro or college, but I really don't have a problem with it unless it has a player's name on it. A lot of Seahawks fans wear No. 12 jerseys with "FAN" on the back. That seems fine.

My "old man yells at cloud" vent: I hate tailgaters.

  9. Thank you all for the responses. This board certainly needed an infusion of posters, but I was just confused. I'm looking forward to the upcoming season.

Utenation: Yeah, I spent the past month building a deck, so I've been out-of-pocket, as they say. Hopefully I'll be around more often going forward, but my wife has me building a Murphy bed right now, and then a resin storage shed for my mower, BBQ, etc.  And I thought retirement would be me being a lazy fuck all the time. No such luck.

Sorry to hear about Orange, but the guy is extreme at times.

  11. I'd love to see this board stick around in some form or another. I feel like it needs a clever name to draw more attention from all of us displaced fans. Let's put our heads together, kids!

    How 'bout Pac-12 Zombies?

I'm not the one who spoke for 80% of the nation.  The SDSU fan did.  I only used his numbers and his percentages (as indicated in my response).

And I'm not so sure that you can legitimately speak for media companies and state that "inventory" is important to broadcasting networks.  What is important to media companies is making money.  And networks such as ESPN and Fox Sports are looking for games that have national appeal, more that regional appeal, because that yields more money.

PAC12 fans like yourself need to make up your minds.  Do you want regional appeal or national appeal?  The complaint that PAC12 fans so often reciprocate is that they don't get consideration for the CFB playoffs, etc., because they feel that the PAC12 doesn't get enough national exposure.  Now you're telling me that SMU and SDSU would garner regional viewership, and that's all that's necessary.

I quoted you. You wrote, "Speaking for the 80% ... "

And yes, inventory is important, and it equates to money.

So Mike Bellotti has "an impending sense of doom" and is "teetering on the brink." He also once infamously said following a CW loss: "We didn't lose, we just ran out of time."

In case you weren't aware, not all college football games are "marquee match ups." Does a Mississippi State @ Vandy game have more appeal than Oregon State @ SDSU? I think most fans of college football who watch games in which they don't have an emotional investment just want to see an exciting game, I know I don't really care who the participants are.

And I'm sorry, but speaking for the 80% of the US population that is east of the Rockies, SDSU and SMU do not make the PAC12 more compelling, and will not move the needle and inspire people to tune in and watch SDSU play Washington, or Oregon State, or Colorado, etc.

I'm not sure you can legitimately speak for 80% of the nation, but everyone knows SDSU and SMU don't have the cachet of the LA schools. It's not a secret.

What they do bring is inventory, which is important to media companies. SMU is less popular in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex than UT, A&M, OU or TCU, but in the PAC they won't often  have to compete directly with those schools for regional viewers, and a 9 p.m. start in Dallas is a solid timeslot. I think they can move the needle - eventually.
