Obviously tariffs will also increase the price of the massive amounts of produce imported from Mexico.

NPR today said that 50% of the agricultural labor in California is undocumented. I can just see the native-born Americans lining up for those jobs. Between tariffs on incoming Mexican produce and the increased cost of domestic production due to deportations people are definitely going to see the difference in their grocery bill.

Trump names Peter Navarro as Senior Advisor for Trade and Manufacturing. I heard an interview with Mick Mulvaney today. He disapproved of the pick, saying “he didn’t think Navarro was right in the head.” I never thought I would agree with Mulvaney about anything. Navarro is absolutely bonkers. It was evident decades ago when he ran for mayor of SD (as a Democrat).
