  1. So they would go against the Attorney General after four more years of rooting out people that are not sufficiently loyal to Trump? I just don’t believe it.
  2. I wouldn’t count on that. US Marshalls are under the DOJ.
  3. Because they cared about keeping a facade. Trump doesn’t give a fuck.
  4. I doubled my annual contribution a few days ago.
  5. That’ll teach him for the Easter blessing for J.D. Vance! On his way to the basilica, Francis met briefly in his hotel with U.S. Vice President JD Vance, who was spending Easter in Rome with his family. The Vatican said the encounter lasted just a few minutes and was designed to allow for an exchange of Easter greetings. Francis, for his part, gave Vance three big chocolate Easter eggs to give to his three young children, who did not attend, as well as a Vatican tie and rosaries. “I know you have not been feeling great but it’s good to see you in better health,” Vance told the pope. “Thank you for seeing me.”
  6. A good walk spoiled.
  7. Isn’t it obvious why not? It’s very simple. A majority in Congress either agree with the deportations or at least won’t cross Trump.

Ironically, Peter Crouch despite being 6’7” was regarded as being rather poor with his head.
  9. No. He really doesn’t understand that there is now really only one branch of government. The courts have no enforcement power. Congress does his bidding or nothing at all.
  10. Regardless, Congress is superfluous to him. They couldn’t pass anything anyway.

Agree with you except for the LeBron part. A player who can’t dribble or pass is of little use. Huge is not as important as you think. Messi is 5’7” and 148 pounds.

I have no doubt that many of our pro athletes would be great soccer players. I’m not as Amerocentric as you though. I’m not willing to concede that Michael Jordan is a better athlete that Christiano Ronaldo, or Maradona, or Pele. If I had to pick my American athlete I’d go for Bo Jackson. The problem with your 10 guys and LeBron is that you have to get the ball to LeBron, in the air. Because of the off-side rule he can’t just park himself in the box. He would need to pull his weight defensively. No team could succeed with the world’s greatest header of the ball that couldn’t do anything else. The other team would channel the play through the middle to prevent crosses to LeBron. I of course view soccer as a “real sport,” but I agree that few of our very best athletes choose it. The simple reason is that if they have the size and the athleticism, they can usually make a lot more money playing another sport. The US should still have a large enough population to be much better, but we’re not IMO for quite a few reasons. USSoccer pays insufficient attention to large segments of our population. In much of the world it’s poor kids that become great players. Not so here. Here it’s concentrated in affluent suburbs. Pay-to-play dominates as has been mentioned. Our coaching is parochial and substandard. College soccer is a complete waste of years if the objective is to create pros. I love the sport but I don’t think the USMNT has progressed at all in the last 20 years.
  13. He hasn’t put any immigration legislation to Congress because he doesn’t need to.
  14. It’s pervasive now, but it’s always bugged me that people speak of “issues” when they really mean “problems.” It’s as if acknowledging a “problem” is too difficult and watering it down as an “issue” is preferable.
  15. And is adding $4.5T to the deficit just part of Nacho Duce’s “common sense”?
