I actually think NDSU football only is on the table right now..Whether the parties can work it out is unknown. The original idea was NIU and Toldeo to get 2 schools in the CST/EST zones.

I don't think NIU will be the last CST school added..One charter flight every other year is not a horrible travel burden. NIU has to make 4 trips out west. That is why I believe they are going to get a school in their part of the country so that they only make 3 trips out of their time zone.

Again, this was a recommendation from the media providers..I am guessing they see more potential than you do. At any rate it appears that NIU will be added. I am happy to have them and as we all know, my vote is the only one that matters.

Looking at a map Dekalb County is right in the middle of the western Chicago suburbs and exurbs and there is a whole lotta people living in that area. I am sure NIU has fans in Chicago itself but adding the surrounding counties along with Aurora and Rockford means a boatload of potential viewers. The MW has been in consultation with media providers and they appear to like this market.

Just for the record. The half a million people who live in Washoe County know that the State Capital is in Carson City And....Carson City is not in Washoe County.

I don't think this is a winning or losing type thing. I am certain the Pac will get some good schools and will have a nice media rights deal. The MW has done a fine job so far. I like the mix. We all have to live through this year and next in limbo. The defectors want to be gone and the MW is eager to get the next chapter started. And the end of the day I am only going to be interested in whatever conference Nevada is in. I really don't care what the Pac does or doesn't do going forward. I just wish this weird time was over.

If the new MW gets to 9 football schools it will be fun to play every team every year. Nevada really has not had a lot of games against AFA, NM and Wy and none against UTEP in 20 years. I am really looking forward to those games.

I believe it will settle eventually as well. Your 40 year journey at SDSU has culminated in moving to a G5 conference. I think it will be a better conference and you will get a good deal...But it is still a mid major. Nobody east of the Rockies will give a shit about either mid major conference we have created for ourselves. Because it is all about lawsuits and bad blood now it is likely that my school will never play your school in any sport again. I am cool with that and I am absolutely certain you are too. This is a divorce and mighty messy one at that. But it is necessary divorce so we can all get on with our lives.

I know your fondest wish is for the MW to roll over and give up the whole farm to the defectors and the Pac 2. It all may happen but I am pretty sure the MW is going to fight back..They have lawyers too..
