Yea I think the cookie cutter approach to generations where they all are X number of years is really dumb. What really matters IMO is stuff like this; what was going on as people came of age, and also what people do and don’t have memories of. Using myself as an example, not having any real memory of the USSR existing or the Cold War differentiates me from those that do in a significant way. Remembering 9/11 differentiates me from those born in the late 90s or later in a significant way. Graduating college soon after the 08 housing market crash reception had a big impact on people around my age. Etc, etc.
