If it was going to be a problem, why join the WAC back in the day where you had the same schools, BYU, Utah, Wyoming, CSU AFA, New Mexico and UTEP all at elevations above 4500 ft? Those "portable" landing docks are a joke. Any attempt at an amphibious landing with those floating coffins will end in complete disaster. Taiwan's EW, Anti Missile, and Air Defense capabilities combined with US, Japanese and Australian naval power, both surface and air will decimate any landing force before it gets halfway across the Strait. The USMC's and South Korean Marines new Pacific Strategy initiatives are one more road block to any Chinese invasion force. The PLA is more than likely less capable than the Russian armed forces are.

UTEP and Wyoming have been pretty good basketball programs in the past. They have the potential to get back to that. GCU is no slouch. UNLV won't be down long. It will, but not in the way you think it will. The state of New Mexico will not dump the kind of money your delusions believe they will. UNM and NMSU athletics are not a priority. There are also 3 other public universities that will be feeding at that table. There isn't a donor base that cares enough about the Lobos and the Aggies. My home state is a weird place that refuses to look forward. New Mexicans don't see potential, they see the right now. They are also very jaded, and don't believe anything good will ever happen to the state.
