IMO, outside of Mt Rose, which is relatively small but has incredible challenging terrain when snow permits... Palisades (Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows) is the only great area at Tahoe. I don't care for Heavenly or NorthStar, Kirkwood's good but a pain in the ass to get to. The Ikon also has Mammoth which is incredible, during the week, and just over 3 hours from Reno.

eh...I've had a seasons pass for 30+ years usually ski 40-50 days, often for only a couple hours, but it comes out to about $12-15/day Mt Rose has two high speed "6 packs" each with 1400+ vertical feet...pretty easy to make 5 or 6 runs/hour

it's pretty sad right now Mt Rose has done a great job with snow making, so all the main runs have good coverage but I don't expect the chutes to open anytime soon

Mt Rose for 10-12 runs and then... making home made pizza in the new pizza oven my son got for Christmas...and plenty of beer for the big game tonight
